Wonderful turnout this morning on a brilliant day as a good number of the Community, both young and old, gathered for the 45-min 11am Epsom ANZAC Service. Big thanks to Gail Romano: Curator War History Auckland War Memorial Museum who told of two NZ Donald Brown’s (from Otago and Auckland) who both found themselves on the Somme on the morning of 15th Sept 1916. Thanks also the The Reverend Jeremy Woods who delivered yet another thoughtful sermon. Also to Kendyl Smith of the Albert Eden Local Board Auckland Council for leading the Laying of Wreaths. Thanks also to the Epsom District Girl Guides and the St George Scout Group for placing and retreiving the colours.
